Victorian State Titles 2024-25

Somers YC – 8-10 March 2025 & Rye YC – 12-13 April 2025

The Mk1 and Spinnaker Mosquito State Titles for 2024/25 were held at Somers Yacht Club over the weekend of 8th to 10th March.

We had a hot weekend with good light to moderate variable winds from the North all weekend. We were very lucky as most of the state had hardly any wind at all – while we had a complete series of 8 races. It did get challenging at times and there were a surprising number of capsizes.

Gary Maskiell was a clear winner in the Spinnaker division winning the first six races. He had help at times, watching boats ahead of him capsize to let him through. The Mk1 division was also decided with a race to spare as Pete Kiely sailed to his first State Titles win.

Matt Stone won the Claphanger award despite stiff competition from Tim Shepperd.
